When it comes to London Fashion Week you can always expect to be wowed. You might anticipate a plethora of thrilling fabrics and textiles to be on show; soft silks, luxurious laces and exotic prints will no doubt spring to mind, but how about a soft and chewy cookie? Well, in an entirely new collaboration, Millie’s Cookies has invited designers to down their needles and threads and take on the challenge to create a limited-edition designer iced Giant Cookie.
Bringing Cookie Couture to the masses, the exclusive collection will now be re-created in icing by Millie’s Cookies expert icers and sold nationwide for charity to kick start the launch of LFW 2011 (Friday 16th September). A very tasty opportunity indeed.
Designers including Clements Ribeiro, Elizabeth Lau, Lu Flux and Yang Du ditched their leggy beauties to take up the opportunity to conjure up some Millie’s magic on blank cookie canvases and create designs with their trademark stamps, making the cookies that are now tipped to be the must have treat for LFW 2011.
Freshly made with Millie’s know how, the cookies will be hitting high streets all over the UK throughout LFW and will be on sale in most of the 110 outlets across the country until Monday 3rd October. Priced at £12.99, the 12 inch Giant Cookies will be much lusted after, offering budding fashionistas who can’t attend London Fashion Week a chance to get a taste of the action themselves.
The hot collaboration also sees Millie’s Cookies pledge 10% of all the profit from the sales of the cookies to the designer’s chosen charities, including Save the Children, UNICEF, British Heart Foundation and Dementia UK.
Which cookie do you like best?
I can’t make up my mind as to whether I prefer Elizabeth Lau’s chute face or Yang Du’s winking eye…..
