Piping tubes, also known as tips, nozzles and pipes. There are many to choose from and which tip shape and size you select will depend on the medium you are using and the design of the piping you wish to create. Generally, however, the tubes used for buttercream tend to be much larger than those used for delicate royal iced detail.
Piping bags, these are available in two main types: reusable bags, now usually manufactured from proofed nylon and disposable bags manufactured from clear plastic or greaseproof paper. What does Lindy use? Well she personally favours large plastic disposable piping bags for buttercream piping and small proofed nylon reusable piping bags for royal icing.
Piping bag couplers, these clever devices are wonderful time savers; they are added into the end of piping bags to enable tubes to be easily changed, so removing the need to have a new piping bag for each tube.
