Using sugarcraft cutters to create shapes out of icing is an easy and effective way of decorating your cakes, cupcakes and cookies. Be creative: repeat shapes or inlay one shape inside another. Allow yourself time to experiment, try thinking outside the box, you may be using a petal cutter but does it have to represent a petal? What patterns can you create by using just one shape? What happens when you combine an a-symmetric shape with it’s mirror image? Look not only at the patterns of shapes you create but also at the spaces in between those shapes.
