This course is one of our most treasured workshops…a perennial favorite… the planting of a seed, so to speak! It’s great to get back to basics, we never tire of it. Students arrive with none or very little knowledge of sugarcraft. Some have dabbled in covering cakes, some have done quite a few. We find that most students are self taught and for many this will be their first professional course in working with sugarpaste and covering cakes. I believe it doesn’t get much better than having step by step tuition from one of the country’s, and quite possibly the worlds, leading sugarcraft experts! Lindy will take you through each step at a pace to suit the class. You will learn about the history of sugarcraft, how to handle sugarpaste, the different tastes and performance of sugarpastes – trust me it’s important, how to get the best out of your cake recipe and the baking of your cake, how to save a cake that hasn’t quite come out of the oven how you had hoped it would, covering a cake board and finally the creative and fun part…adoring your cake!
Lindy will give you lots of styles to try using stencils, a sugarshaper and cutters. By this stage in the day students are feeling a lot more confident that when they arrived so they can really let thier creative juices flow! And because the workshop team are on hand to help in any way we can so there is always someone close by if you need it. The students did a super job today. Look at this fine collection of cakes! Well done ladies. We hope this is the start of a long love affair with sugarcraft cakes!
Join in! Our next ‘Introduction to Celebration Cakes’ workshops are on the 18th June. Click here for more information and to book your place
