A beginners cake decorating workshop!

What a super way to kick off our Autumn collection of workshops…the ‘Introduction to Celebration Cakes’! We love this beginners course because our students gain so much in just one day. Having the oppurtunity to observe and be guided by Lindy in your sugarcraft is truly valuable, having an ‘expert assistant’  like Sally is truly comforting and being supported in a small class situation enables you to achieve so much. Our workshops are educational, supportive and most importantly, an absolute hoot!

On this ‘beginner friendly’ course Lindy takes you back to basics.  She simplifies, and demystifies, the techiniques of: covering a board, covering a cake and decorating your cake. She also focuses on handling sugarpaste, baking the perfect cake for sugarcraft (our Jane has perfected the Madeira cake click here to know how!) the best tools to invest in, and how to achieve that professional finish. And finally Lindy will show you a selection of decorating techniques and products such as: stencils, sugarshaper, impression moulds and cutters to create beautiful shapes and designs for your cake. Lindy encourages you to bring your own style to your cake and therefore gives you lots of options to experiment with. A workshop is the perfect environment to try out techinques  because Lindy and the team are there with you all the way and can give you instant support…

Our students did a fantastic job today.  They were a fantastic group of women who brought a wonderful ‘attitude to learning’ to the class. We laughed so much… as you can see from the cakes above they should be very pleased with themselves indeed!
