Write and Win! Creative writing competition

It’s not all about cakes at Lindy HQ! Creative writing is a big part of working life at Lindy’s Cakes – it’s how we communicate with our customers, cake friends and Lindy fans.

Through mediums such as Twitter, Facebook, Newsletters and our Blog we are able to share with you, often in  ‘real time’, what we’re up to.  We can also share thoughts and ideas with and we’ve always got new projects in the pipeline to shout about…

Lindy and I were commenting recently on how creative, talented and interesting our customers and students are. This was very apparent from the response we had to our cupcake wrapper competition in 2010.

We’ve decided to have  an ‘about cakes‘ creative writing competition! So here it is…your chance to put your sugarcraft skills aside…hang up your pinny…grab a paper and pen…and get writing!

We are looking for fabulous articles to post on our Blog. There will be one overall winner and one winner from every category.  The winners will be chosen by Lindy and the winning  pieces will feature on our Blog in 2011.

The Guideline Bit:

Your article should be interesting and informative. It should be approx 500 words, and no more than 1000 please! Do include pictures – everyone loves to be inspired by pictures. Please reference if appropriate ie: if you adapt a published recipe, quote etc. you must say so and fully reference title and author.  Attach any links or make a note of them ie: if you want to link to a website.

The Good stuff:

If you have a facebook page or website and you are a winner we can include links to these…fabulous free advertising!

The Prizes:

As well as having your winning article feature on our Website/ Blog you will also be treated to…

First Prize: A ‘Lindy Smith ‘ Sugarcraft Workshop of your choice plus £25 to spending on the day (workshop subject to availability)

Category Winner: A  ‘Lindy Smith’ DVD or a ‘Lindy Smith’ book of your choice and a £25 voucher to spend in our on-line shop

Category Runners Up: £15 voucher to spend in our on-line shop.

Terms & Conditions: Lindy’s Cakes reserves the right to edit and publish at our discretion, as appropriate.  Entries must be submitted by an individual. The winning entry will be that which has met the entry criteria and which most closely meets the Competition criteria specified. Winners will be chosen at our discretion. Unless otherwise stated the Company, Lindy’s Cakes Ltd,  is the promoter of the Competition. The ‘Sugarcraft Workshop’ prize may be ‘gifted’ to someone else but is not exchangeable.
