Yay… our Autumn Winter collection of workshops have started ! ‘Introduction to celebration cakes’ is one of my favorite classes because our students arrive with a basic knowledge of sugarcraft, sometimes not even that, and leave with a beautifully covered cake and a pocketful of hints & tips. Lindy has perfected the step-by-step style of teaching ensuring that each step is manageable, not overwhelming, and that you have time to work on each technique with a support team by your side.
Lindy took our 10 students straight back to basics in this class. The focus in this class is on perfecting the techniques of: covering a board, covering a cake and decorating a cake. Lindy also focuses on handing sugarpaste, the best tools to invest in, baking the perfect cake and achieving a professional finish. The cake is very important in sugarcraft as this needs to be a good platform for covering. Lindy will give you tips on baking the perfect cake for covering… and what to do if it doesn’t quite turn out as you had hoped!! Our Jane has perfected the Madeira cake click here to read her ever so useful blog.

Finally Lindy showed our students a selection of decorating techniques using sugarcraft products to adorn your cake beautifully. Lindy demonstrated using stencils, sugarshaper, impression mouldsand cutters to create beautiful shapes and designs for your cake. Lindy always encourages her students to bring their own style to their cake, and she gives you lots of options to experiment with. Our workshops are the perfect environment to try out as many of Lindy’s decorating techniques as you can with an expert by your side!
It is wonderful to see our students achieve so much in just one day. We had a lot of fun, lots of laughs, with a fab group of keen sugarcraft students!
Well done ladies you should be very proud of what you created today…they are special celebration cakes indeed!
