Welcome to a Garden Party at the Vicarage to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. A traditional and inviting tea adorns the table, freshly picked English flowers are in a jug … strawberry tartlets so delicious are saying ‘eat me!’ … but wait a moment. It’s the Maidstone BSG Branch Table at the Telford International Exhibition!
Taking the Jubilee theme at its heart, Maidstone BSG really went to town on the celebrations. You really felt as though you were in the depths of the Kent countryside on a warm sunny June day, being offered a feast of savoury and sweet delights. It was an entirely sweet banquet of course, everything from the flowers in the jug to the egg sandwiches to the strawberry tartlets topped with cream, were made out of sugar.
Dainty and inviting, this fabulous cake decorated with teapots, flowers cupcakes and butterflies cookies on sticks is really unusual and eye catching.
The porcelain tea-set is of course made out of sugar, as was the whole table pictured here. We couldn’t have seen a more picture-perfect creation!
Well done BSG Maidstone for a right royal sugar spread fit for a queen!
With the Diamond Jubilee celebrations only just around the corner, if you are still needing a little inspiration, why not take a look at a few of Lindy’s Creations in the Jubilee themed section of the Lindy’s Cakes shop. There’s a bunting sugarcraft cutter and a very useful set of mini triangle cutters if you really want to fly the flag like BSG Maidstone!
We will have more branch table news to bring you, so watch this space and … as ever …
Happy Jubilee Baking!
