I was recently leafing through back issues of Cupcake Heaven magazine, on the look out for recipes, when I stumbled across a feature about last years Autumn Cupcake Challenge. It had completely slipped my mind that I had helped judge this competition! As you can tell from the photos it was very hot last September, but what I remember most about the event was not the heat but how thrilled and ecstatic Kelly Woolhouse, the overall winner, was when she discovered we’d chosen her cute hedgehog cupcake. It felt so wonderful giving someone soooo much pleasure.
Are you feeling inspired? Would you too like to make your own Autumnal cupcakes or cakes? If you’re not sure where to start, why not take a look at my Autumn cake gallery. The Gallery has examples and links to my cake decorating books, which all have detailed instructions – yes I love Autumn too, the colours are so magical!
If a hands on class is more your thing, I have an ‘Autumn Glory’ Mini Cakes Day Class on Friday 24th October 2014 near Ludlow, Shropshire. The mini cake is from the pages of my next book, published at the end of October, so we’ll be making these cakes before the book is released. It’s going to be a rather special day and I would love you to join me!
Hope I’ve inspired you to get baking and decorating…..
