So what does the queen of Sugarcaft do when she has a few moments of spare time… she starts filming!! As if Lindy hasn’t got enough on her plate with Lindy’s Cakes, teaching and writing, the minute I turn my back she’s off in a studio far away being filmed doing what she does best. Cake friends I had to share this with you as it is an exciting new direction that Lindy Smith is taking. Lindy has collaborated with an on-line company CRAFTSY which is dedicated to providing the best education and resources for crafters. With a global on-line community of 1.5 million crafters and a wide range of craft styles on offer this educational portal is the next best thing to having your craft taught by a professional one to one. Whilst we at Lindy’s Cakes pride ourselves on our workshops Lindy understands that is is not easy to take a whole day out to attend so she was keen to find new ways to reach you… and here is a fabulous one!
The Craftsy team flew in from America to film Lindy over a period of 5 days. The two completed tutotials focus on two new cake designs by Lindy, a Vintage Birdcage Cake & an Art Deco Cake. They are extraordinary. In true Lindy style she takes you through each stage step-by-step. The tutorials have been directed, filmed and produced by Craftsy’s slick production team, working at a highly professional level. Lindy would expect nothing less!
Lindy Says “I spent a fabulous week with the Crew from Craftsy, it was very hard work but a lot of fun – it was wonderful to work with such a professional team that knew exactly what they were doing and what they wanted and I can’t wait to share the end results with everyone.”
The first of Lindy’s online classes ‘Cake Design Made Easy – Art Deco‘… which does exactly what is says in the tin, is being released in August. The Second titled ‘Vintage Cake Design – Sculpting and Stencilling‘ is a birdcage cake and will be available at some point in September.
We will let you know as soon as each class is available and how to sign up.
