Months of preparation went into the Lindy’s Cakes stand at last weekends very successful Cake International Show 2010 at the NEC in Birmingham. We know that many of you visited us there but due to the crowds couldn’t see all we had on offer…..so we thought you’d like to see a few pictures of the calm before the storm!

Setting up the stand is a long job, this year we had a team of five, two to unload and three of us to make it all look beautiful!

Making sure everything fits and is visible is not an easy task….thankfully I’ve always loved the challenge of jigsaws!

Decorated cookies always help bring the outline shapes of cookie cutters to life. This year we were displaying quite a few of my new designs including the very popular camper van, top hat, waistcoat and cushion.

This was the busiest corner of our stand!
Stencils proved very popular and we sold out of many designs, it’s very hard for us to predict what you will all want. But don’t worry we’ll have stock back in again very soon…..

Not many people saw our stand looking like this!!! Most had to wait their turn to get to the front….often it was 3 or 4 deep and even at the beginning and end of the show it was never empty!!!
It was lovely to see so many familiar faces and to meet some of our active Facebook fans, I hope you all enjoyed yourselves. We certainly did and are already planning ahead for next year!

That was one incredible stand, apart from the quality of things on display, the sheer variety was amazing and displayed so neatly. I only passed by and got a couple of things as I have everything already, but the service is always excellent and so friendly.
I think the show should do an award for the best retail stall (with the prize a fee reduction for the following year perhaps..?) I hope you don’t suffer too many ‘losses’ as it seems shoplifting is becoming an issue, which is such a shame.
