Sugar Teddies Galore – Chelmsford BSG Branch Table

As many of you will know, the British Sugarcraft Guild has many local branches, both large and small, across the UK.  At the BSG International Sugarcraft Exhibition at Telford,  last weekend,  these individual branches competed against each other by creating display tables on different themes.  These branch tables were a real delight to see, they were created by both experienced members and members relatively new to our craft – A real  showcase of the friendships that we make through sugar and the joy we take in having fun with our cake decorating.

We just couldn’t help but be entranced by the Chelmsford Branch Table.  It was a case of: ‘If you go down to the woods today, you’re sure of a sugarcraft surprise!’  Well, actually the teddies were having their day out at Telford!  Entirely made out of sugar, some bears took refreshments at the aptly-titled ‘Bearbucks’ cafe whilst others indulged in the art of relaxation on the yoga mats.  Keen on yoga herself, this was Lindy’s favourite section of this table!

The teddy bear Boy Scouts were busy cooking up a storm on the campfire, as other bears took a dip in the pond or played on the swing.

In true village style, there was a teddy bear wedding at the splendid church. It really was a treat for teddy lovers and something so quintessentially British yet universally cute!

Hats off to the Chelmsford Branch of the British Sugarcraft Guild.  Hours of imagination, inspiration and hard work must have gone into creating such a delightful display. If you were one of the teddy contributors we’d love to hear your story.
