I simply loved putting this girly fashion cake together. The idea, as so often happens, came from a number of sources. Firstly Kate, who was my 1-2-1 student last Friday, she wanted to learn to doodle using a fluid writer. Secondly, the redesign of our Lindy’s Cakes website and online shop. This is a massive project! I’ve been adding photos to the new site to illustrate how I have used my own cutters and it has reminded me of some of the cutters I love.
Designer Style Inspiration
The most important spark of an idea, however, came when I was flicking through a colourful Sunday supplement all about style and designer outfits. Many of the designs were beautifully colourful and the photography was simply stunning. I can only dream of owning such items, their price tags were astronomical. I find a good solution to this, however, is always cake!
Kate has been to a number of my group classes, so a 1-2-1 class was a real treat for both of us. We spent a hugely enjoyable day, cake doodling, making ruffles and easy wafer paper flowers. My fashion cake turned from an idea into reality, how wonderful. To find out a little bit more about the cake and learn a few cake decorating tips, simply sit back and enjoy watching the video below (originally filmed as a Facebook live broadcast).
I love creating these videos for you, so it makes my day when I receive lovely comments like the one below.
