Over the years that I’ve been teaching and demonstrating cake decorating, I have appeared on various TV shows but yesterday was my first appearance on Create and Craft TV. Create and Craft is a TV channel dedicated to all things craft, so when I heard that they wanted to feature my new ‘Mini Cakes Academy’ book how could I refuse? It was definitely a new experience for me, but one I thoroughly enjoyed.
The presenter Dave Bradford was a complete cake decorating novice, so it was good to be able to go through some of the cake decorating basics with him and the TV audience, as well as showing how to create some of the mini cakes that appear in the book.
In the hour programme, I demonstrated two complete mini cakes plus touched on how I created my favourite cake in the book, this colourful happy home cake. I enjoyed my time on the show and I hope that I’ve inspired more people to have a go at baking and decorating mini cakes.
