- Saw Chinese ‘open up’ cakes (literal translation) today – steamed cakes (like most Chinese cakes) that look as if they have popped open! #

- Mooncakes seem to be everywhere in Singapore at the moment, they are being sold in preparation for the Chinese Mid-Autumn festival. #
- Tasted mooncakes at Raffles Hotel last night. Their most popular flavour is snow-skin mooncake with champagne truffle and ganache, delicious #
- Saw Chinese mooncakes today – they are a pastry covered sweets made in the shape of small cakes – tops decorated with lovely patterns. #
- Totally understand why cake decorators have problems over here in Singapore, it’s so hot and humid – I’m wilting! #
- Change of climate, I’m flying from slightly chilly Melbourne up to humid Singapore today. Wonder what sugar delights I’ll find there? #
- Admired photos of John Quai Hoi cakes and sugar work last night, one sparked an idea which I may well use – credited to John, of course. #
