- My students created some fantastic cat cakes today. None had carved cake before but they managed beautifully – white chocolate cake, yum! #
- Cat cake carving class tomorrow – English style, back to what I know! Ganaching worked beautifully today but I think I prefer buttercream. #
- Think I learnt as much as my students today! We created my art nouveau lily cake using chocolate ganached cakes, a first for me & it worked #
- I’ve changed venues, I’ll be teaching in Camperdown now for a few days at Iced Affair – 2 workshops and 2 dems, think I need an early night! #
- Well the Australian cake seminar is over, had a fab time made lots of new friends and caught up with old ones. Hope to see you all again… #
- More prep today for my final dem here at the seminar – got to make a swarm of sugar butterflies to finish – what could be more beautiful! #
- Sydney sales night was a big success, my cutters simply flew off out. So many eager sugarcrafters it’s lovely to see the enthusiasm here. #
- Now it’s back to work – it’s sales night this evening and I’ve been warned it’s chaos! No idea if I’ve shipped enough ‘stuff’, just have to see! #
- Had a wonderful morning here walking around Sydney’s botanic gardens – so many flowers to photograph, I’m sure 1 or 2 will end up on a cake! #
- The second day of dems over it’s felt a bit like running a marathon, I’ve just had to keep going and going, but seem to be over the jet lag now #
- I’ve just completed 6 decorated cookie demonstrations in just under 7 hours – everyone seemed to thoroughly enjoy them but I’m shattered!!! #
