Cake International is a wonderful showcase for sugarcraft talent from both the Uk and around the world. This year saw a staggering amount of entries in each class, for example the wedding cake class had 50 cakes entered! I am always so busy that it is never possible to see all the entries but here are a few more that appealed to me (see yestursdays post for my absolute favourites):
Isn’t the detail on this amazing house wonderful, I wonder if it is based on a real building? Annelies was awarded 3 gold, one silver and one bronze awards at the show!!! Click here to read more about this talented Dutch lady.
These flowers were simply amazing – I dread to think of how many hours, days, weeks or months this exhibit took to create. I couldn’t stop looking at the flawless details……
This mask really appealed to me, I love the texture of the patterns and the fact it is all in white!
A competition entry from the international class, a beautifully created windmill from Holland.
In my early sugarcraft days I used to enter competitions, it’s hard work but a lot of fun and certainly well worth while as you learn so much. If you have never entered a cake competition but have been thinking about it I would urge you to take the plunge and have a go. There are usually classes to suit all abilities.
Good luck Lindy

I love the little house too. It reminds me of the Lilliput Lane houses my Mum used to collect.
I never made it this year as I was too busy, I wish I had made time now.

Hi Val
Thank you for letting us know. Regards names of cake makers, I always photograph the name cards as well as the cakes so I know who has created what. However the prize winners will be published in cake craft and decoration magazine in due course.
Hope this helps

Hi Lindy, thank you for posting great pictures of the exhibits and making us notice some that might have been missed. I don’t understand why the incredible pagoda with its flawless and incredibly detailed design and geometry could only get Silver.
